ASSESSMENT TO MY HABITATS AND ECOSYSTEMS PROJECT

Welcome back to my blog!!!

Today I would like to introduce you my assessment proposal.

The evaluation strategies have been implemented from three different perspectives: self-assessment, peer-assessment and teacher assessment.

Self assessment guaranties the children necessity of reaching their learning goals. Assessment for learning have been taken into consideration through all the activities. Children will have access to all the contents they will need to learn from the very beginning, so that they know what they have to learn. In Quizzer our pupils can check if they are really achieving knowledge or if they are lacking information. More over they have different checkouts lists to fill at the end of each classroom, so they make sure they are doing what they are expected to do.

Peer assessment is the foundation of the whole didactic sequence. Children will be matched into team groups to carry out most of the activities. By this they will help and learn from each others while learning new contents along with other skills.

Teachers feedback will be given during lessons and individually when needed. Rubrics will be used to ensure a fair and adequate assessment to the achievements.

An individual evaluation will be carried during two lessons at the end of the didactic sequence. The children will have to fulfil an exam at the classroom. The exam will also be uploaded for them to check if needed. They will be expected to sit for an exam which questions are similar to the lessons activities, to end with they will have to create their own habitat and justify its characteristics.

Here you are the evaluation of the project:

HABITATS AND ECOSYSTEMS

Hello everybody!!!

Today I would like to introduce you my latest clil science didactic sequence. By the following activities it is intended to teach about the earth habitats to 4th graders children using different ICTs as as well as a collaborative methodology.

Here you can watch my didactic sequence prototype to have an overall of the contents:

The didactic sequence would be uploaded to the classroom blog as to allow all the pupils to work at their own pace. Cooperation and communication will be enhance during the lessons and different learning assessment strategies will be settle to help the children learn to learn.

WORKING HISTORY WITH TIMELINES

     Hello bloggers!

History is one of the hardest subjects for primary children to learn, this is usually related to the fact that past and future concepts are very abstract to them. Therefore, Timelines can be very useful in order to teach them history in a meaningfully way.

Downwards, I am listing several ideas and resources to face timelines in our classrooms.

The website I have used is List.ly and its utility can be similar to those for Pinterest regarding the teaching purposes, you can organized web and resources according to topics. The main different is that Pinterest is organized from the perspective of a picture so that it is got a more visual effect upon the viewer (I will let yourselves decide whether this is always an advantage or no)

In my opinion List.ly is wonderfully recommendable to teachers that would like let their students work online on a project by proposing several - previously checked - sites.

CLIL BANK OF COMMON KNOWLEDGE

Hello once again!

Today I would like to tell you about Pinterest as a resource for classes.

I just have learn about this social network and find it both useful and amusing. The net is organized according to boards, which can be cooperatively or individual, as a result it can be used to create a compilation of different resources so everything related to a topic can be organized. More over by creating your own board you can disseminate your designs or projects.

Now I would love to show you the board we have created in my Master's degree full of resources with regards of CLIL teaching.

MY CREATIVE LICENSE

Hello bloggers,

Today we have been learning about the importance of a good use of a digital identity in internet. Contrary to the common sense, t is usual that we log in the network with mocked names as not giving importance to our acts in the web. Being teacher as we are we have to create awareness in our students of who important is to be fair whether in internet or not.

The same lack of respect can be transferred to the inappropriate usage of work. Regarding how rightful use somebody else's work we have been taught about Creative Common licenses which is a non-profit organization that offers licenses under several conditions: Attribution, Non-derivatives, Non-commercial and Share a-like.

You can learn more about their license in their site: https://creativecommons.org/choose/

According to the options that creative commons provide and given my recent awareness about the importance of adequately license my work, I agreed that it would be a great idea to create I license that would both protected my own effort while working and publishing while also  contributing worldwide with my learning.

So that I have created this license;

Creative Commons License

I have decided to use a license that allows people to use and share my materials as long as they do alike. I believe That this will benefit the whole teacher community by both allowing to use materials as well as encouraging other to share their own work.

Despite wanting to contribute to the teacher community I also find important to protect my personal work from anybody trying to steal it for comercial purposes. Besides, while working with young students it is important to teach them to use sensibly websites as well as respect others personal work and creations, just as they should do with a physical space or creation.

See you next time!
